Wish of a Lifetime needs your help to fulfill the Wish of a caring and compassionate 70 year old who is in the end stages of COPD, and all you need to do is send a postcard. Tom Burgett of Alabama has been fascinated by the vast diversity of cultures throughout our World. Unfortunately, Tom’s ability to travel has become unfeasible given his current medical ailments. Spending most days at home, besides the occasional doctor’s visit – Tom is worried that the outside world will pass him by.
We’re determined to prevent that from happening and with your help we can expose Tom not only to the many fascinating cultures of the world but also its love and respect. All Tom wants are postcards. By visually visiting the locations on your postcards, Tom knows they will bring joy to his heart through his imagination. We have fallen head over heels for Tom’s story and have vowed to make his Wish a reality. Help us show this amazing senior that we still care and that old passions never die, even when you are no longer able to fulfill these passions on your own.
We will deliver all your postcards directly to Tom, so send a postcard highlighting the culture, landscape or people of our world, better yet send two or three and ask your friends to send them too!
Address postcards to:
Wish of a Lifetime Attn: Tom Burgett 1821 Blake St. Suite 200 Denver, CO 80202Before you send your postcard, take a picture and upload it to Twitter or Instagram with hashtag #tomswish
We would love to get this trending and have thousands of people hear Tom’s story!

I love to travel and totaly appreciate how he must feel. I’ve chosen to send him a postcard of Shetland, where we now live, as I doubt anyone else will be sending one from there! You can see more of Shetland, the most northerly part of the UK, on Visitshetland.org

Wow! What a touching story. Even though I’ve never traveled outside the US, I still intend on sending a postcard from my hometown of Floyds Knobs, In. God will use this and give you the eyes to see the beauty of His world through the many many postcards you will receive . I hope to see an update on this soon. Praying for many more blessings
We’ll be sending a postcard and spreading the word to our travel community!
I’m traveling Europe right now and a friend sent me this link. I’ve added this address to the people getting postcards from my travels. I love postcards as much as Tom does!
He will have a postcard in the mail from us by the end of the weekend!
It will take a little while to arrive, but I put mine in the mail this morning from Australia
Sending mine off tomorrow! (I found out about this on Pinterest – maybe a good way to promote these type of wishes?) I have also forwarded this to people abroad or who travel abroad. I do hope he gets lots of mail. Cheers!

Oh My Goodness — Idaho doesn’t seem to be represented. Shall remedy that right now. Meanwhile, prayers and greetings for Tom from the Clark Fork River in northern Idaho.
This IS a great idea! I’m sending Tom a peek at Charleston, SC. Well, maybe a bit more than a peek. I’m on card #5 at the moment. Writing shorts as a bit of what I’d share with a visiting friend. Instead of looking for the postcards of my hometown in IL, I’m posting on the two alumni sites I manage to ask classmates to send one or more. Small town America… a place we wish we could recreate.
Thanks for the opportunity to participate and share with Tom. Until I have a paycheck coming in, I’ve grounded myself. I always enjoy doing things for others!
Will send mine off from Heathrow tomorrow
I’ll send one from Bulgaria on Monday!
I’d like to send him a postcard but I have some problem with his address. Do I need to add USA in his address? I want to make it clear to ensure the card will arrive to the him
Just to make sure it gets here I would add USA.

I’ve had a pile of postcards for a couple of years that I bought to send to foreign friends and, for one reason or another, never did. I think perhaps they were waiting for something more meaningful like this.
Just came home from a vacation where we travelled to Torino and Limone Piemonte, Italy down to the Cote d’Azur and ended up in Montpellier, France. I sent him a postcard from each stop. It was fun to share our trip with him.
